Truancy and Delinquency Prevention Partnership
Program Description
The Truancy and Delinquency Prevention Partnership (TDPP) is a cooperative program involving the Delaware County Courts, magisterial district judges, Juvenile Probation, the County of Delaware Department of Human Services, Children and Youth Services, The Office of the District Attorney, Office of Behavioral Health, the Delaware County Intermediate Unit and Child Guidance Resource Centers.
The goal of the partnership is to reduce truancy among students in Delaware County - including all 15 school districts and private and parochial schools in the county. School personnel identify children with truancy, tardiness, pre-delinquent or delinquent behaviors; or referrals can come from magisterial district judges.
Each child is assigned to a TDPP clinician who conducts an assessment with the family to determine needs and acts as a liaison between the family, the school, the courts and other systems. Children and their families are offered services, such as family counseling, family support services, individual therapy and behavior management programs, at no cost to them. The TDPP clinician visits each child weekly and also conducts a family session in the home.
